The ecology of virtual worlds: Julien Céré is presenting our first results at Genomes to Biomes in Montreal!

Tomorrow, Julien Céré is presenting our first results on the ecology of virtual worlds at the Genomes to Biomes conference in Montreal. Alongside our research activities on animals, we have been working on this project for a while now, and we are pretty excited to show its main ideas and results! In a nutshell, we challenge game designers to harness the tools we (as ecologists) use to study and understand ecosystems, and figure out how to manage them. We also challenge ecologists to study what is perhaps among the last ecosystems unexplored. Virtual worlds face the same management and conservation problems as real ecosystems, and it is fascinating to study these. Julien’s presentation is at 10h30 AM (Montreal time) in MR1 (room). Enjoy the conference!
